Cutting the gains

Rob
Wonder if anybody has any top tips for gain cutting.
I marked the start of the gain 300mm from the end of the strake but it took ages to rebate it and still needs a hefty twist to marry it up with the garboard. Haven't read about the use of steaming etc once the garboards are in place. Of course the bevelled edge gets perilously thin with the steep angle plus dropping the "next" plank into the "previous" one.
Maybe the process gets easier with practice.
